What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive-Grade Paint Sprayer position at Dillon Works, Inc.?
At Dillon Works, we create custom elements for theme parks, museums, retail spaces, and architectural installations—not cars, but immersive, high-end experiences that require automotive-grade finishes. If you're a skilled paint sprayer who takes pride in achieving flawless finishes on a variety of materials, we want to hear from you!
What You'll Do
- Prep, prime, and spray automotive-grade paints on metal, wood, fiberglass, and plastics.
- Use our Matthews Paint Station to mix and match paints for precise color control and durable finishes.
- Work on custom, one-of-a-kind projects requiring attention to detail and consistency.
- Maintain paint equipment and ensure a clean, controlled spray environment, including our 40-foot-long by 16-foot-wide by 18-foot-high custom spray room.
- Collaborate with designers, fabricators, and project managers to achieve high-quality results.
- Support other departments—fabrication, assembly, or general shop tasks—during lighter paint periods to keep projects moving forward.
What We're Looking For
- Experience with automotive or industrial spray painting (HVLP, airless, conventional).
- Strong knowledge of paint mixing, color matching, and surface prep.
- Familiarity with Matthews Paint systems is a plus.
- Ability to work with multiple materials and adjust techniques accordingly.
- Detail-oriented mindset—our work is highly visual, creative, and precision-driven.
- A self-starter who is capable of cleaning, maintaining, and organizing their workspace.
- Team player—willing to assist in other areas when needed to keep projects moving forward.
- Ability to meet standard physical requirements of the role, including prolonged standing, lifting, and consistent use of respiratory protective equipment.
