Dillon Small Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, along with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced veterinary environment. The role involves assisting veterinarians in providing high-quality care to small animals, ensuring their health and comfort during visits. Pay will be dependent on experience.
Duties
· Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, including administering medications and vaccines as directed.
· Prepare animals for surgery by ensuring proper aseptic technique and handling.
· Preform laboratory testing, including blood draws, fecal, and urinalysis.
· Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments, particularly with dogs and cats.
· Communicate with team members and doctors with respect, accuracy and efficiency.
· Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by regularly cleaning cages, surgical areas, equipment, and other general cleaning tasks.
· Utilize X-ray and ultrasound equipment when necessary to assist in diagnostic procedures.
· Support the veterinary team with tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, collecting payments, and maintaining patient records.

Required Experience
