Position Overview
We are seeking an Experienced Vehicle Preventive Maintenance Technician who owns a Heavy-Duty Pick-Up Truck capable of pulling a 10,000 lb mobile facility. As an Independent Contractor, you will bring our mobile maintenance unit to customer sites and perform comprehensive preventive maintenance services on commercial fleet vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
- Travel to customer locations with a mobile maintenance unit to perform on-site PM services and DOT inspections.
- Perform oil changes, grease jobs, and replace oil, fuel, fuel-water separators, hydraulic, and air filters.
- Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance.
- Maintain a clean and professional work environment at all times.
- Use diagnostic skills to identify wear conditions and recommend next steps to customers.
- Maintain service documentation and follow company processes.
- Ensure work is completed safely and efficiently, with no disruption to the customer’s operation.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of diesel mechanic experience.
- Minimum 5 years of preventive maintenance and inspection experience.
- Ownership of a Heavy-Duty Pick-Up Truck capable of towing a 12,000 lb. trailer.
- Strong knowledge of fleet preventive maintenance services.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Basic computer skills for service documentation.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., kneel, crawl, and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Work performed both indoors and outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions.
- Exposure to mechanical parts, vehicle fluids, cleaning agents, and occasional loud noise.
