What are the responsibilities and job description for the Secondary Special Education position at Dilley High School?

Primary Purpose:

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

 

Position requires a valid Texas teaching certificate in the subject and level of assignment.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s degree from accredited university

Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned

Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of core academic subject assigned

General knowledge of curriculum and instruction

Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

 

Experience:

At least one year student teaching or approved internship

 

      • $50,450 - $65,925 Salary Schedule Range
      • $1,000-$1,500 for a Master’s
      • $3,000 per dual credit course per semester
      • $3,000 Special Education
      • $468 Contribution to TRS Insurance
      • Dilley ISD will provide a $10,000 Life Insurance (no cost)
      • Supplemental Benefits are offered through First Financial
      • District Matches 457 Plan up to 3%
      • District Employees are paid semi-monthly
      • Dilley ISD offers the “Grow Our Own Program” to further your education
      • Day Care Services at a minimal rate
      • Staff housing first come, first serve
