DILIGENT DELIVERY SYSTEMS is an established yet fast growing freight forwarding, transportation, supply chain, and logistics provider with locations and partners throughout the country to better serve our clients.
Founded in 1995, Diligent has been providing local and regional delivery services to several niche industries. We are expanding our services to enable our customers to use Diligent as a complete transportation provider. These services include: · Fulltime local and regional dedicated driver leasing positions · Over the Road, LTL, FTL shipments · Domestic and International Freight · Cartage and Small Package / Pallet Network Program, Final Mile and On-Demand Courier services.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
1. Schedules and dispatches drivers and vehicles in a timely and efficient manner
2. Responds to urgent situations, changing conditions, and unscheduled client requests
3. Manages driver routes and assignments
4. Communicates all necessary information to drivers and customers in a timely and effective manner
5. Maintains accurate logs and records of vehicle assignments and deliveries
6. Resolves driver and customer issues as they arise, including network and logistics planning
7. Coordinates with maintenance and repair facilities for vehicle service and repair needs
8. Maintains good working relationships with drivers, clients, and management
9. Continuously monitors and evaluates driver performance
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a dispatcher is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong understanding of geographic areas and local traffic patterns
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience of using dispatch software preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Ability to work independently and make quick and appropriate decisions
Detail-oriented and strong problem-solving skills
Good data entry and typing skills
Monday – Friday 1st Shift
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS:
The dispatcher works in a fast-paced, demanding environment, and must manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. They work in an office setting but can also be required to work remotely or take calls from the field. The job may require occasional weekend work and may be required to work beyond normal hours or work shifts as needed.
