Event Security Officer - Greater Bay Area
The Event Security Guard position is a seasonal, temporary role designed to support Diligence Security Group’s event-based operations during a defined event season.
The Event Staff is responsible for patrolling assigned posts and accounts and has an understanding of the Specific and General Post instructions for all sites and has practical knowledge of all instructions that are called for by the client and executes all tasks related to maintaining prescribed standards in compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures. Diligence Security Group (DSG) team to develop, implement and manage all physical safety and security programs that align with the client’s culture, values and policies.
Position Duties:
- Greet guests with a friendly, genuine demeanor.
- Manage entry protocol which may include, scanning tickets, verifying wrist bands/ badges/ identification, bag searching, and metal detector screening.
- Maintain order among large groups by redirecting foot traffic and providing guidance to guests.
- Deescalate and suppress disturbances in a timely manner and with a calm demeanor.
- Report all suspicious activity to supervisors and fellow guards.
- Monitor and patrol entrances and exits; acts to prevent unapproved or unlawful entry; controls entrances, the movement of people and vehicles, security cameras, and parking.
- Warn violators of rule and safety infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and escort persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
- Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate has the following qualifications:
- Valid State Security Guard Card License
- High school diploma or higher in any discipline
- Valid CPR/AED/First Aid Certification, preferred
- Passion for providing top level security service
- Strong ability to effectively deescalate situations
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Fluent in English (written and verbal). Additional languages a plus.
- Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
- Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
- Wellgroomed and sharply dressed in uniform.
- Active listening skills

Physical Demands:
- Ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Ability to move for prolonged periods to inspect site area(s).

- Ability to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc.
