Position Overview
DiLandri Provisions Co. is seeking a motivated Foodservice & Outside Product Sales Representative to help grow our existing foodservice customer base, develop new accounts, and manage the expansion of our outside product portfolio.
This is an entry-level sales role with significant upside, designed for someone eager to learn the specialty food distribution business from the ground up. The role reports directly to the President and offers meaningful exposure to strategy, brand development, and customer relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
Foodservice Sales & Account Management
- Grow and maintain an assigned base of foodservice customers, including restaurants, delis, caterers, and institutional accounts
- Build strong relationships with chefs, owners, and operators
- Identify opportunities to increase distribution, menu placement, and share of wallet
- Conduct regular sales calls, product presentations, and tastings
New Account Development
- Prospect and onboard new foodservice customers within assigned territory
- Collaborate with operations to ensure smooth onboarding and service execution
- Maintain accurate customer records, pricing, and account details
Outside Product Portfolio Management
- Support the launch, growth, and ongoing management of non-core / outside brands
- Educate customers on product features, applications, and value propositions
- Work closely with leadership on brand strategy, pricing, and promotional opportunities
Internal Collaboration & Reporting
- Report directly to the President on sales activity, opportunities, and challenges
- Coordinate with warehouse, operations, and retail services teams to ensure best-in-class execution
- Track sales performance, customer activity, and pipeline development
Qualifications & Skills
- Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply; prior foodservice, hospitality, or sales experience is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong sales / selling mindset
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently
- Willingness to learn the specialty food distribution business
- Professional demeanor with customers and internal teams
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally
Compensation & Incentives
This position offers a competitive base salary plus performance-based incentives, with clear upside as the role and portfolio grow.
Base Salary: $45,000 – $60,000 annually, based on experience
- Commission / Incentive Plan:
- Monthly or quarterly commission tied to:
- Foodservice sales growth
- New account acquisition
- Growth of outside product portfolio
- Uncapped earning potential as business expands
Expected Total Compensation (Year 1): $55,000 – $75,000
- Growth Opportunity:
- As territory, accounts, and responsibilities expand, compensation is expected to scale meaningfully
- Clear pathway to a senior sales or category leadership role with higher base and incentive structure
