Joining Dignity Care Team as a Certified Nurse Aide I, II (CNA) and/or a Certified Medication Tech is an exciting opportunity to refresh your career in a unique assisted living environment, Silverbell Homestead. What you can expect:
- Direct Patient Care. Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic activity of daily living. Our CNA’s care for up to 6-7 clients a shift.
- Engagement Duties. To learn about your clients’ talents and capabilities and encourage them to do what they can do. Learn new tools of engagement through our iN2L program. Your day is not just ADL’s but includes fun and meaningful activities.
- Continuous Improvement: We are consistently looking for ways to improve processes for our clients and teammates as we aim to build the greatest health care community the world has ever seen.
- Building long-term relationships with your clients and their family members. You will also be working side-by-side with hospice, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, and other healthcare providers. It takes a village to keep our clients healthy, comfortable, and engaged during the last years of their lives.
- Team. Cross functional teams (mostly third party) enable you to grow your own skills as well as creates a supportive, team approach. You are not in the trenches alone. CNA’s and CNA’s work under the supervision of a RN.
- Schedule. Shifts can be designed to meet your lifestyle. We are currently looking to fill a NIGHT shift positions, the schedule is: FULL-TIME, (3 shifts a week) hours are 7:00pm to 7:00am.
- Meals: If your shift covers mealtime, you are welcome to eat the meal prepared by the chef with the clients. Our chef is amazing.
Essential details about this position:
· Carry out the duties outlined on the Plan of Care.
· Personal Care (Bathing, Dressing, Continence, Incontinence care, Mouth & Skin care etc.)
· Medication Reminders and support (training provided by RN)
· Ambulation techniques and knowledge of Hoyer lifts when needed to support the client a plus.
· Engagement Activities: walks, reading, games, puzzles, reading poetry or newspaper, conversation, and computer skills.
· Meal Preparation and Nutritional encouragement. Full-time chef prepares all meals. Just need to heat and serve when chef not working.
· Safety Supervision
· Orientation Reminders
· Ensure safety of clients and yourself regarding Infection Control by following safety policies, procedures, and CDC guidelines.
· Holiday pay equals 2x, OT pay equals 1.5x
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
· 1 year(s) of experience caring for seniors in the long-term care community.
· CNA or Medication Technician certification preferred but not required. Willingness to grow and expand your skills is required.
· Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. and be able to score 80% or higher on our competency exam.
· A minimum of 4 recent references (2 personal and 2 professional).
· 2-step TB test required or chest Xray.
· Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
· Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license & car insurance if required to transport a client.
· Possess personal qualities: honesty, integrity, compassion, accountability, reliability, patience and a strong desire to serve elders with dignity and respect.
