GitLab Administrator
Location: Dallas, TX — Onsite

Role Overview
We're seeking experienced Administrators to join our Code Management team. The right candidates for this role will be able to execute strategic projects, optimize CI/CD workflows, and drive infrastructure modernization. They will play a critical part in maturing our automation ecosystem (GitLab, Ansible Automation Platform, and Terraform Enterprise) as the organization migrates from previously used toolsets, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and manage GitLab Runners, Groups, Projects, and Permissions at scale.
- Harden GitLab for enterprise usage (SAML/SSO, LDAP, RBAC, backup/restore).
- Design, implement, and optimize complex GitLab CI/CD pipelines using YAML best practices.
- Leverage Terraform, Ansible, or similar tooling to provision and manage self-hosted GitLab and runners.
- Implement GitOps practices to manage infrastructure and environment configurations.
- Automate operational tasks and incident remediation via pipelines and scripts.
- Partner with application teams to onboard them onto GitLab workflows and best practices.
- Develop and maintain clear runbooks, wiki pages, and pipeline templates.
- Integrate monitoring (PrometheGrafana, ELK) for GitLab health and pipeline performance.
- Implement policies and guardrails to ensure code quality, compliance, and security posture.
- Troubleshoot and resolve CI/CD and migration-related incidents in a timely manner.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call support rotation.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8 years of administration experience across multiple complex applications and tools.
- Software Configuration Management expertise.
- Experience administering GitLab, Artifactory, Xray, and SonarQube.
- Experience with Terraform and Ansible.
- Understanding and working knowledge of containerization on Kubernetes / OpenShift.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and IBM Cloud.
- Working knowledge of different Software Development Lifecycle methodologies.
- Strong communication skills and a track record of cross-team collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience with strong scripting/programming skills.
- GitLab Certified Administrator.
- Recent experience administering GitLab Self-Managed.
- Prior experience with build management, configuration management, and/or quality testing.
- Experience with SCM practices including Agile, continuous integration (CI), and continuous deployment (CD).
