Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Attendant
Job Description:
The Shipping and Receiving attendant is responsible for supporting the purchasing, receiving and inventory process by coordinating materials, monitoring deliveries, maintaining accurate records, and working with internal teams. This position ensures materials are available when needed while supporting inventory control, cost savings, and efficient day-to-day operations. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive and process incoming shipments, assign materials to proper locations, and submit packing documentation
- Support deliveries and drivers, including inter-building transfers, emergency pickups/deliveries, and outbound shipment preparation
- Maintain accurate inventory through routine checks and weekly cycle counts
- Ensure organization, cleanliness, and upkeep of shipping, receiving, inventory, and desk areas, including general facility support (trash removal, sweeping/mopping, parking lot cleanup, snow removal/salting)
- Provide cross-functional support to manufacturing and other departments as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior Shipping and Receiving, warehouse or inventory experience preferred
- Working knowledge of material handling, inventory control, and cycle counting practices
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and follow established processes with strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills with a commitment to maintaining clean, orderly, and efficient work areas
- Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate with multiple departments and buildings
- Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of managing daily responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Flexible and responsive to changing priorities, including urgent deliveries and cross-departmental support
- Physically capable of lifting materials, operating pallet jacks/hand trucks, and performing indoor and outdoor facility upkeep in varying weather conditions
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support Manufacturing and contribute to the overall success of DigiTek operations
- Personal protective equipment required (steel toed shoes, safety glasses, etc)
Work Environment:
The company has two facilities located in Livonia, Michigan, approximately half a mile apart. We strive for a supportive, empowering, and collaborative culture.
