Multiple YC-backed startups are hiring SDRs and BDRs to help scale their sales teams, with real exposure to strong founders and a clear runway into a closing role.
These are proper outbound roles, not list-ticking ones. You’ll prospect into target accounts, build pipeline that AEs can actually close and sit close enough to founders to see how the business thinks about GTM. If you want to grow into an AE seat, these are the kinds of environments where that happens fast.
Role: SDR / BDR
Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 OTE, plus equity on most roles
Location: New York
What you’ll be doing:
- Prospect into target accounts across email, phone and LinkedIn
- Book qualified meetings for account executives that actually convert into pipeline
- Research buyers properly and personalise outreach rather than blasting templates
- Use modern tooling like Apollo, Clay and Outreach to work smart on volume
- Feed what’s working (and what isn’t) back into sales and marketing so the motion keeps improving
- Partner with AEs on target account strategy and multi-threading
- Own your numbers, your reporting and your own improvement loop
What you’ll need:
- 1 to 3 years in an SDR or BDR role, ideally in SaaS or tech
- A track record of hitting meeting or pipeline targets, with the numbers to show for it
- Confidence on the phone and in writing, with the resilience to keep both muscles sharp
- Curious, coachable and quick to pick up new tooling, ICPs and messaging
- Clear ambition to move into an AE role within the next 12 to 18 months
Nice to have:
- Prior startup experience, especially as an early SDR hire
- Experience selling AI, developer tools or technical SaaS
- Exposure to Clay, signal-based outbound or more technical prospecting workflows
