Armed Security Guard

Digital Security Solutions, PLLC is a trusted, rapidly growing security provider in the Quad Cities and surrounding regions, managing over 40 employees and multiple client sites. We are seeking dedicated, professional Full-Time Armed Security Guards for ongoing placements across our local and regional client locations, including dedicated sites like Galesburg, IL.

Compensation & Pay Progression

• Starting Pay (Unarmed Probation): $18.00 / hour (paid bi-weekly)
• Armed Transition Rate: $19.00 / hour (effective upon completing unarmed probation, required training, and obtaining the Illinois Firearm Control Card)
• Post-Probation Rate: $20.00 / hour (effective after passing the 180-day armed probation)

Schedule Flexibility

• Type: Full-Time positions with variable or standard shifts depending on client assignment (e.g., standard site rotations or set schedules such as mid-week/weekend coverage).
• On-Call / Event Options: Opportunities also available for flexible on-call scheduling and yearly event staffing.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide vigilant armed security services to protect the safety and health of client personnel, visitors, and property.
• Conduct regular foot patrols, enforce site access control procedures, and monitor surveillance equipment.
• Handle tense or unpredictable situations calmly and professionally, utilizing effective conflict management and de-escalation techniques.
• Respond promptly to alarms, security breaches, or incidents, coordinating seamlessly with local law enforcement and emergency services.
• Administer First Aid, CPR, and AED response during medical emergencies when required.
• Implement loss prevention strategies, maintain detailed incident reports, and strictly adhere to all site-specific post orders.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Age: Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Licensing: Valid driver’s license and a valid Illinois Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) card.
• Experience: 1 years of weapons experience/familiarization. Preferred candidates bring 3 years of U.S. Military service or prior professional experience in security, law enforcement, or corrections.
• Screening: Must successfully complete a background check, drug screening, and a Physical Fitness Test (PFT).
• Skills: Exceptional customer service, professional verbal communication, strong problem-solving abilities, and the physical endurance to stand and walk for extended periods.
