- Lead, train, and support the maintenance team while promoting a safe, productive, and accountable work environment.
- Assign and prioritize daily maintenance activities, preventive maintenance tasks, and emergency repairs.
- Monitor team performance and provide coaching, feedback, and technical guidance.
- Coordinate maintenance coverage to support production schedules and minimize equipment downtime.
- Oversee routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment according to established schedules.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions, mechanical failures, electrical issues, and control-system problems.
- Perform and oversee repairs, adjustments, and component replacements to restore equipment functionality.
- Ensure accurate maintenance records are maintained, including work completed, parts used, equipment condition, and outstanding repair needs.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and lead troubleshooting efforts to identify the root cause.
- Analyze recurring equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and plant leadership to resolve complex technical problems and improve machine performance.
- Recommend equipment upgrades, process improvements, and other solutions that increase reliability and operational efficiency.
- Oversee the calibration of machinery and equipment to ensure accurate operation and compliance with quality standards.
- Conduct regular testing and inspections to verify compliance with safety regulations and quality-control requirements.
- Evaluate equipment performance and make necessary adjustments to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Develop, update, and enforce maintenance procedures, guidelines, schedules, and equipment manuals.
- Manage the preventive maintenance program and ensure work orders are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies required for maintenance and repairs.
- Work with the purchasing department and outside vendors to obtain necessary parts, services, and equipment.
- Assist with maintenance budgeting, cost control, and planning for equipment repairs or replacement.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with OSHA requirements, company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and other applicable regulations.
- Conduct safety inspections and address identified hazards promptly.
- Promote safe work practices and ensure employees are properly trained on equipment and maintenance procedures.
- Work closely with operators, supervisors, production leadership, and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities.
- Provide clear updates regarding equipment status, repair timelines, production impact, and recommended corrective actions.
- Train and guide machine operators on proper equipment operation and basic maintenance practices.
- Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors when specialized repairs or services are required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, mechanical engineering technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in industrial or machine maintenance, including previous leadership, supervisory, or lead technician experience.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with a solid understanding of machine operation, control systems, and preventive maintenance.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and testing instruments.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, drives, and automated production equipment.
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Strong leadership, organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and equipment documentation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across departments.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to urgent equipment issues.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various positions.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, provide off-shift support, and respond to emergency maintenance needs when required.
