Digital Harbor High School is an innovative technology-focused high school. Students take preparatory courses for entry to college, prepare for technology careers, and earn industry-level certification. Digital Harbor is a part of Baltimore City Public Schools (Baltimore, MD).
We are looking for an enthusiastic and engaging ELD (ESOL/ESL) Paraeducator who speaks Spanish to join our team! Successful candidates will be able to perform a variety of routine school-based support and pupil contact duties related to supporting English learner students and emerging bilingual families by assisting teachers, administrators, and other designated professionals in both instructional and non-instructional activities in support of ELD students and programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from High school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
- At least forty-eight college credits from an accredited college /university OR successful completion of the MSDE ParaPro Assessment.
- Knowledge and competency in both English and at least one other language, including the application of spelling, punctuation, and grammar rules of the language(s) spoken and written.
Responsibilities include:
- Assists in planning and providing interpretations, leading parent meetings, and limited informal translations.
- Works with ELD students individually and in small groups, following the direction of the assigned teacher.
- Assists in coordinating activities, events, and meetings for emerging bilingual families.
- School-based support and pupil contact duties.
- Other ELD-related tasks.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.25 - $35.69 per hour
