Role Description
The Digital Forensics Examiner is responsible for the collection, preservation, and analysis of digital evidence from computers, mobile devices, cloud environments, network systems, and other electronic sources. This role involves conducting both assigned and independent forensic examinations in support of investigations involving trade secret theft, fraud, employee misconduct, Title IX matters, criminal cases, cybersecurity incidents, and incident response engagements.
Working under the guidance of firm leadership, the Examiner will manage forensic investigations, collaborate with team members, and may provide mentorship or oversight to junior staff. The successful candidate will produce clear, defensible, and technically accurate reports and must be capable of presenting findings through affidavits, depositions, hearings, or courtroom testimony when required.
Full-time and part-time roles are available.
Qualifications
A competitive candidate will have:
- A Bachelors degree in a related field of study.
- A minimum of two years experience conducting digital forensics exams.
- An investigative mind for problem solving on complex matters.
- The ability to self-manage time and tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with operating systems and networking.
- Proficiency with forensic tools (FTK, Axiom, Cellebrite, f-response, Paladin).
- The ability to travel occasionally throughout the US.
- Some testimony experience is a plus.
- Candidates must have current authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
