THE ROLE
As a Civil Engineering Student Intern, you'll work alongside engineers, project managers, construction inspectors, and other professionals to gain practical experience in engineering design, field operations, and project delivery. You'll contribute to meaningful projects while developing technical and professional skills in a collaborative environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist engineering staff with project planning, design, and technical documentation
- Support the preparation of engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications
- Perform data collection, research, and analysis for engineering projects
- Participate in field inspections and site visits
- Assist with construction administration and project management activities
- Review plans and project documents for accuracy and completeness
- Utilize engineering and drafting software under supervision
- Participate in project meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Perform other duties as assigned to support project and operational needs
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree program in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Sophomore standing or higher is preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, or related engineering software preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work in both office and outdoor environments
- Travel to project sites as needed
- Navigate active construction sites and uneven terrain
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- Perform field activities in varying weather conditions
