This entry-level position will support engineering design, testing, debug, test automation, and prototype development for control systems used in semiconductor tools.
You will collaborate with Engineers, Test Development, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to support early-stage product development through validation, testing, and design refinement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, simulation, and validation of digital hardware systems, FPGA-based designs, and embedded control modules.
- Support FPGA development activities including HDL design (VHDL/Verilog), simulation, programming, and functional testing.
- Assist with firmware integration and debugging using C, C , Python, or scripting tools.
- Perform board-level testing, characterization, and troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, or similar tools.
- Participate in hardware/software integration and embedded system functionality testing.
- Interpret schematics, block diagrams, test procedures, and basic hardware design documentation.
- Collaborate with Test Engineering to assist in development of automated test scripts, lab setups, and data capture methods.
- Support engineering builds, test logs, defect tracking, and ECO documentation.
- Help prepare and maintain technical documentation, including test reports, prototype notes, schematics, and troubleshooting guides.
- Work with cross-functional teams to review design for manufacturability, testability, and reliability in preparation for NPI readiness.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, or related discipline (BSCpE, BSCSE).
- 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships, university design labs, FPGA projects, capstone projects, or robotics acceptable).
- Foundational knowledge of digital hardware design, embedded systems, and FPGA concepts.
- Familiarity with HDL (VHDL or Verilog), microcontroller programming, or embedded C/C preferred.
- Basic experience using test and debug tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, or JTAG programmers.
- Familiarity with Python, scripting, or basic automation tools is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and documentation accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to support cross-functional collaboration.
