We are seeking a versatile and proactive Senior Data Analytics Software Engineer to serve as the technical cornerstone of our newly forming data analytics organization. In this role, you will own the end-to-end flow of data within our organization. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering and data analysis, ensuring that our raw data is reliably moved, expertly transformed and analyzed, and clearly visualized. You will simultaneously work with core engineers and various business units, addressing a broad range of data intelligence needs to drive our business decisions.

Pay Transparency: The estimated salary range for this role, based in our New York City office, is $175,000-220,000. The range may vary if based outside the New York tri-state area (New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut). Base salaries are determined during our interview process, during which we assess the candidate's experience, skills, and capabilities against internal peers and the scope and responsibilities of the position.

Job Requirements
- Experienced software engineer, as demonstrated by either your open-source libraries or commercial experience.
- Experience with developing and deploying data systems.
- Expertise in data analytics that extracts business insights from low-level data sources
- Proven track record of building complex, user-friendly dashboards in Looker Studio, Tableau, or Looker.
- Tech stack:
- Expert proficiency in SQL, preferably in BigQuery
- Proficiency in Typescript is a plus, but not required
- Experience with IaC, specifically in Pulumi, is a plus
- Engineering Mindset: Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and software engineering best practices applied to data.
- Experience in analyzing Web3 data is a plus, but not required
- Very strong oral and written communication skills, and a proven record of coordinating between multiple business units and engineering teams.
- Master’s degree or PhD in computer science or a related discipline; or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Based in the US (specifically in NY, NJ, or CT) or the greater Zurich area, Switzerland.

Data Pipeline Development & Orchestration
- ETL/ELT management: Automate the extraction of data from various sources into a centralized data warehouse
- IaC: Use IaC tools (mostly Pulumi in Typescript) to manage all cloud resources and deployment of analytics pipelines
- Ensure high data quality and integrity standards.
- Establish company-wide availability and access control over potentially sensitive data sources.
- Standardize data modeling in the data warehouse
- Transform business goals into efficient queries and analytics
- Design dashboards for executive-level overview and detailed SME-level use cases
- Self-Service Enablement: Build curated data models and query building blocks that empower non-technical users to build their own reports
- Build tools to monitor the data pipelines, query performance and cloud costs
- Assist in building and managing this newly established data analytics team by helping in hiring, onboarding, and mentoring new engineers.
- Participate in planning, analysis, and design of the team’s deliveries.
