Mainframe Engineer (W2 only)

Introduction: We are currently seeking a Mainframe Engineer to join our team in either Smithfield, RI, or Merrimack NH. This role will involve classic Mainframe Developer responsibilities and be part of a long term project focused on modernization efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain mainframe software using COBOL, IBM DB2, JCL, VSAM, and SQL
• Participate in the design, development, testing, and implementation of mainframe applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success
• Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to mainframe applications
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in mainframe development

Requirements:

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in COBOL programming language
• Experience working with IBM DB2, JCL, VSAM, and SQL
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Preferred Skills:

• Previous experience in mainframe software development
• Knowledge of modernization techniques for mainframe applications
• Certifications in COBOL or mainframe technologies
• Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
