Position
We are seeking a Principal Sales Engineer to support the Cellular & Managed Services business unit. This role is responsible for solutioning our Wireless Router technology and Managed Services with Carrier Alliances, Partners, and Customers across diverse industries. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of routing, switching, security, wireless networking, cellular technologies, and managed connectivity services, along with strong customer engagement and technical sales expertise. Candidate must be willing to travel up to 50%. The customer base inclusive of regulated industries.

What You Will Do
- Technical Pre-Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer needs, present solutions, and drive the technical sales cycle for Digi's wireless routers and managed services.
- Solution Architecture: Design and propose end-to-end solutions for customers, integrating Digi's cellular routers, remote management, security, and managed connectivity services.
- Customer Engagement: Conduct product demonstrations, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and technical deep dives for customers and partners.
- Partner Enablement: Train and support partners to successfully position and deploy Digi’s wireless connectivity solutions.
- Technical Documentation: Assist in creating technical proposals, white papers, best practice guides, and solution architectures tailored to customer needs.
- Industry Expertise: Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging wireless technologies (5G, LTE, Private Networks), and IoT innovations to provide thought leadership.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, engineering, and customer support teams to relay field insights and contribute to product development.
- Post-Sales Support: Provide guidance on deployments, troubleshooting, and solution optimization to ensure customer success.
Who You Are and What You Bring
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 10 years of experience in technical sales, solutions engineering, or sales engineering.
- Experience working with carriers bringing new solutions to the market.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Cellular networking (4G LTE, 5G, CBRS, Private LTE, SIM management).
- 4G/5G Core/RAN experience and Wireless spectrum working knowledge.
- Wireless routers, gateways, and remote network management.
- IP networking (TCP/IP, VPN, SD-WAN, MPLS, CGNAT, firewall policies, security protocols, routing protocols, packet sniffers, trouble shooting).
- Linux networking stack, shell & programing experience a plus.
- Managed connectivity services and cloud-based networking solutions.
- Sales Acumen: Proven ability to influence technical decision-makers and assist in technically closing complex deals.
- Communication Skills: Excellent presentation, customer-facing, and documentation skills.
- Professional Level Networking Industry Certifications are a plus.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $184,000 – $287,500. Pay ranges are determined by role, job level and primary job location. The range displayed reflects the reasonable range we anticipate paying for this position and reflects the cost of labor within several U.S. geographic markets. The specific salary offered within the range will depend on various factors including, but not limited to the candidate’s relevant and prior experience, education, skills, and primary work location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each position. Pay ranges are typically reviewed and updated annually.
