School Year PositionProfessional & Ethical Practices: - Arrives on job at required time and stays on job for prescribed amount of time.- Takes direction and implementation from supervising teacher(s) or Individual Education Plan (IEP) contact person.- Reads and acknowledges student educational plans relevant to paraprofessional role.- Maintains professional relationships with students, staff and administration.- Participates in staff training and professional development.- Reports concerns to the teacher(s) and/or administration.- Adheres to confidentiality in all interactions with staff, parents, and the community.- Demonstrates proficiency in oral and written communication skills.- Models & promotes appropriate communication, socialization, and conversation skills.- Fulfills any additional duty as assigned by administration.Instructional Content & Ability to Support Student Instruction: - Assists in the implementation of accommodations, modifications, organizational skills in accordance IEP(s)- Fosters independent learning skills as appropriate for developmental and grade level functioning, such as unpack backpacks, use of locker, having necessary materials, self-advocacy, etc.- Assists with functional daily living skills as appropriate for developmental and grade level functioning, such as buttoning, zippering, tying shoes, cutting, use of agenda, etc.- Assists with functional daily living skills as necessary including but not limited to feeding, toileting, dressing, hygiene skills, mobility and vision assistance, and others as required.- Supports students in developing appropriate behaviors including assisting in the implementation of a behavior intervention plan (BIP).- Learns and displays knowledge of subject matter necessary to assist students.- Collects data under the direction of staff.
