What are the responsibilities and job description for the Endoscopy RN position at Digestive Health & Endoscopy Center?
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse - Endoscopy to join our team. The RN will provide professional nursing care by assessment, planning, teaching, treatment and evaluation of the patient. They will provide safe, knowledgeable, compassionate, educative, individualized and goal directed nursing care to patients and families.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure in the State of Ohio as a Registered Nurse.
- Current BLS and ACLS. If you do not have ACLS, it must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
- Only RNs with ACLS may give sedation and monitor the patient during procedures.
- Good written skills and verbal commands.
- Skills in dexterity for moving and positioning patients.
- Ability to work well with physicians, fellow employees, and patients.
- Ability to start IV's
- Positive response to supervision and criticism.
- Requires extensive mobility.
- Periodic pushing, pulling, and lifting patients.
- Potential exposure to HLD Agents.
- Possible exposure to patients with communicable diseases.
Job Responsibilities:
- Meets the needs of the nursing service as demanded by the schedule, particularly when overtime hours and time changes become necessary.
- Uses professional nursing judgment when treating patient problems.
- Assesses and monitors patients before, after and during the phases of patient care.
- Demonstrates competency with monitoring equipment.
- Performs as an advocate for excellent patient care.
- Provides education and instruction to patients family.
- Records nursing notes accurately.
- Communicates a positive and caring attitude towards the patient and the family.
- Is skilled in the use of endoscopic and monitoring equipment.
- Participates in the patient safety committee.
- Participates in incident reporting.
- Complies with HIPAA policy and procedures.
- Functions as a member of the center's team
- Performs other appropriate tasks as assigned.
