What are the responsibilities and job description for the Endoscopy Nurse-Day Shift position at Digestive Care Center?
Digestive Care Center is seeking a Registered Nurse in our Jasper Endoscopy Center. The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to patients in the JESC during procedures and recovery through physician’s orders and according with recognized nursing techniques and established policies and procedures.
What You Need for this Position:
- Registered Nurse with license in active good standing.
- BLS Certification required within 6 months of hire.
- Maintains BLS Certification.
- ACLS Certification required or obtained within 6 months.
- Maintains current ACLS certification.
- Membership in local, state and national professional organizations encouraged.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Collect patient history and medication reconciliation, obtain appropriate procedure consents and complete data entry.
- Obtain vital signs.
- Provide patient education and validate patient/family understanding of procedure and discharge instructions.
- Complete intra procedure patient assessment and promotes optimal patient environment.
- Document ongoing assessment of patient during procedure and recovery.
- Anticipate patient and physician needs.
- Demonstrate proficiency in all basic nursing skills, including ability to start I.V.s and medication administration.
- Demonstrates knowledge of endoscopic procedures.
- Accurately enters information in electronic medical record.

This position is Monday-Friday. No nights or weekends.
