Job Overview
The Host / Hostess is responsible for warmly welcoming guests, managing reservations and seating, maintaining an organized front entrance, and ensuring a smooth flow of the dining room.

Duties
- Greet guests with a friendly and positive attitude, making them feel valued and comfortable upon arrival
- Manage restaurant reservations efficiently using restaurant table management systems such as Open Table and Toast
- Escort guests to their tables, ensuring proper seating arrangements and timely service flow
- Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing information about wait times, reservations, and general inquiries
- Maintain organized waitlists and communicate wait times clearly to guests
- Support food safety standards by maintaining cleanliness in the host station and dining areas
- Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate seating and optimize table turnover
- Use POS systems to update reservation statuses and assist with guest billing or inquiries if needed
Experience
- Prior experience as a host/hostess or in food service is highly preferred, demonstrating familiarity with restaurant operations
- Proven skills in restaurant reservation management and guest services
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and clear interpersonal interactions
- Experience working with restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, guest counts, and billing procedures
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hospitality best practices
- Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent guest relations
