Role Description The General Laborer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Fargo, ND. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with construction tasks such as site preparation, material handling, basic demolition, and cleanup to keep job sites safe and organized. The General Laborer may support carpenters and other trades by moving equipment, loading and unloading supplies, and performing simple measurements or cuts under supervision. This role requires following safety protocols, using hand and power tools as directed, and completing physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and working in varying weather conditions. The General Laborer collaborates with crew members, responds to direction from supervisors, and helps ensure projects stay on schedule.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, carrying, bending, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in changing weather conditions.
- Basic construction skills such as using hand and power tools, measuring materials, and assisting with site setup and cleanup.
- Strong safety awareness, willingness to follow safety guidelines, and commitment to maintaining a clean, organized job site.
- Reliable work habits, including punctuality, consistent attendance, and ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills and a positive, respectful attitude toward coworkers, supervisors, and clients.
- Previous construction or general labor experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn on the job is essential.
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation to job sites in the Fargo/Moorhead area preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
