**Position Summary:**We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working with diesel engines, performing both routine maintenance and complex repairs. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring our fleet operates efficiently and safely. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered vehicles while working closely with a team of mechanics, technicians, and management to provide timely and high-quality service.
**Key Responsibilities:**- Perform diagnostic assessments using the latest tools and equipment to identify and resolve mechanical issues with diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, electrical systems, and other key components.- Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and tire inspections, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and company guidelines.- Execute major and minor repairs on engines, hydraulic systems, cooling systems, exhaust components, and fuel systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety.- Perform preventative maintenance on diesel vehicles to reduce the likelihood of future issues, identifying potential mechanical problems before they become critical.- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems within diesel-powered vehicles, such as lighting, control systems, and onboard computers.- Collaborate with management to prioritize and schedule repairs in alignment with operational needs and deadlines.- Keep meticulous records of all maintenance and repair work, including parts replaced, services rendered, and any follow-up required.- Utilize diagnostic software and tools effectively, staying updated with advancements in technology relevant to diesel engines . Ensure all work is completed in adherence to safety standards and regulations to minimize risks and hazards in the workplace.- Assist in training and mentoring junior mechanics and apprentices as needed, fostering a collaborative learning environment
.**Qualifications:**- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Diesel Mechanic, with expertise in maintaining and repairing diesel engines, heavy-duty vehicles. Extensive knowledge of diesel engine systems, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and fuel injection systems.- Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using a variety of diagnostic tools, including computer-based diagnostic software.- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills to maintain detailed maintenance logs and reports.- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication and problem-solving skills.- Valid driver’s license is required.
