Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Assembler to join our team in a high-mix, low-volume plastics manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their work and can adapt quickly to different assembly tasks and part configurations. You’ll be assembling a wide range of custom plastic parts, components, and subassemblies to meet precise customer requirements and quality standards.
Essential Functions:
• Assemble plastic components and subassemblies using hand tools, adhesives, fasteners, and fixtures according to work instructions and drawings.
• Perform manual and semi-automated assembly tasks, including fitting, deburring, drilling, tapping, or bonding.
• Follow detailed work instructions, job travelers, or blueprints for each assembly.
• Inspect work visually and dimensionally to ensure parts meet quality specifications.
• Identify and report defective materials or non-conforming parts.
• Handle frequent job changeovers as part of short-run, custom production.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
• Keep workstation clean, organized, and safe according to 5S and safety guidelines.
• Communicate with leads, machinists, and quality personnel to ensure smooth workflow.
Qualifications:
• 1 year of assembly experience in a manufacturing environment (plastics preferred).
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Ability to read basic work instructions, assembly drawings, and part numbers.
• Comfortable working with a variety of tools (e.g., torque drivers, calipers, small hand tools).
• Able to adapt quickly to new products, part configurations, and assembly methods.
• Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Work Environment:
• Exposure to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, and varying temperatures.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
• Hands-on role requiring standing, manual dexterity, and occasional lifting of materials or fixturing.
• This position may involve exposure to, but is not limited to, the following materials: acrylic, polycarbonate, FR-4 epoxy glass, GPO (I, II, III) polyester glass, HDPE (high-density polyethylene), glass epoxy, G9 glass melamine laminate, copper, brass, and aluminum.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs repetitively
Schedule:
• 1st Shift: 5:30 am to 2 pm, or 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
Compensation and Benefits:
• Competitive hourly wage/salary based on experience.
