What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Media Content Creator position at Die Free Studios?
Die Free Studios is a Los Angeles–based creative consultancy working at the intersection of brand strategy, world-building, and website design. We partner with founders, creatives, and mission-driven organizations to build brands that feel lived-in, intentional, and human — not performative.
Our work spans:
- Brand Therapy (clarity, positioning, narrative, aligned offers, and business direction for founders)
- World Building (multi-touchpoint brand ecosystems for organizations & cultural projects)
- Website Design (strategic, conversion-driven digital homes — not templates for the sake of it)
This role supports the visibility of these services through thoughtful, fun, engaging, strategic content — not trend-chasing.
We’re looking for a Social Media Content Creator to help keep Die Free Studios’ Instagram active, intentional, and aligned — 2–3 posts per week — and to support light TikTok content editing and occasional ability to come Downtown Los Angeles for simple shoots.
This is a contract, hybrid role (mostly remote) with a monthly stipend based on agreed hours.
Light Content Strategy & Ideation
- Generate content ideas aligned with:
- Brand Therapy
- World Building
- Website Design
- Translate existing work (client stories, frameworks, insights, offers) into post concepts
- Help shape simple recurring content formats or series (especially for TikTok)
Content Creation & Editing
- Edit short-form video content (IG Reels / TikTok)
- Light graphic/text-based post creation (no heavy design work)
- Prepare content for posting (captions drafted, hashtags, reels formatted)
Filming Support (Occasional)
- Ability to come to Downtown LA as needed for:
- Mini content shoots (BTS or talking-point videos, etc.)
- Comfort directing light filming moments (phone-based, low-production)
Platform Focus
- Instagram (primary)
- TikTok (secondary; mainly editing support)
- Strong understanding of brand strategy, creative services, or founder-led businesses
- Able to think strategically, not just aesthetically
- Comfortable working with voice-led, insight-driven content (not trends for trends’ sake)
- Clear communicator who can take direction and proactively suggest ideas
- Organized, reliable, and respectful of timelines
- Based in or near Los Angeles (or able to come to DTLA when needed)
- You rely heavily on viral trends without understanding brand context
- You need constant direction or daily check-ins
- You’re only interested in influencer-style content creation
- Contract role
- Hybrid (mostly remote, 1x per month DTLA presence required)
- Monthly stipend based on agreed hours
- Opportunity to grow with the studio as offerings and visibility expand
Please send:
- A short intro about you
- Links to relevant social media work (especially for creative, service-based brands, or your own)
- Any experience editing short-form video or supporting content strategy
