Company Description Die Cast Press Mfg Co., Inc. is a specialized manufacturer of hot and cold chamber die cast machines, high-technology “DCP” retrofit shot ends, and new “DCP” trim presses. The company also remanufactures die cast machines, trim presses, and upper halves, as well as blow molding and injection molding machines. In addition, Die Cast Press provides retrofit manifold packages and replacement parts to help customers extend the life and performance of their equipment. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Machinist role based in Paw Paw, MI. The Machinist will set up and operate manual and/or CNC machines to produce and repair components for die cast machines, trim presses, and related equipment. Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, selecting appropriate tools and materials, performing precise measurements, and machining parts to specified tolerances. The role also involves inspecting finished parts for quality, performing routine machine maintenance, and keeping work areas clean and safe. The Machinist will collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other shop personnel to meet production schedules and support custom or remanufacturing projects.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in machining practices, including setup and operation of manual and/or CNC lathes, mills, and related shop equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications, and translate them into accurate machining operations.
- Strong measurement and inspection skills using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision instruments to verify tolerances.
- Knowledge of metalworking processes, materials, cutting speeds, feeds, and tooling selection for safe and efficient operations.
- Experience with machine maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and adherence to safety procedures in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a shop setting.
- Previous experience in die casting, molding, heavy machinery, or remanufacturing is preferred but not required.
Completion of a machinist apprenticeship, vocational program, or equivalent on-the-job experience is strongly preferred.
