Why This Role Matters
The Training Specialist will be responsible for conducting training across the organization and ensuring a high level of performance is delivered to our employees. They will network with staff across the organization who develop or conduct training and external vendors to assist in improving the overall quality of the training function. The Training Specialist will also oversee the logistics and coordination of training events.
What You Will Do
Training Delivery & Facilitation
- Conducts Didlake developed training such as Introduction to Didlake, Disability Awareness, and Supervisor and Manager series, and conducts other training as deemed necessary by the Director of Training.
- Assists in developing content and delivering trainings for the Didlake Internship Program.
Training Development & Continuous Improvement
- Stays abreast of changing circumstances that may require updates to computer-based and in-person training and recommends those changes to the Director of Training.
- Assists the Director of Training in identifying, reviewing, organizing, and developing training manuals, reference library, multimedia aids, and other educational materials as necessary.
- Assists in identifying training needs by working with department managers/supervisors and the Director of Training, and assists other trainers across the organization and makes recommendations for improving curriculum and delivery.
Quality Assurance & Evaluation
- Assists the Director of Training in periodically auditing training courses.
- Tracks employee surveys of training and monitors, adapt training and instructional methods, and reports on feedback.
Administration & Logistical Support
- Provides administrative support to the department, organizes catering for events, maintains supplies, sets up room for in-person training, coordinates required interpreters, including ASL and foreign languages, processes post-event paperwork, and assists in maintaining and distributing all training calendars.
- Maintains professional, appropriate conduct and decorum and completes and maintains all Didlake required training.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree with two (2) years of professional training/development experience OR
- High school diploma with four (4) years of professional work experience in training/development.
- Experience with creating original training presentations and/or instructional courses using graphic design or other presentation software is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with disability support services is preferred.
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to develop, present and conduct training programs and curricula; excellent written and verbal communications skills, excellent computer skills.
- Thorough knowledge of company policies and procedures; knowledge of employment laws, federal laws, Ability One, SCA requirements and human resources helpful.
- Ability to project a positive and professional image to the public, coworkers, and Didlake clients.
- Ability to interact effectively and supportively with people with disabilities.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and able to obtain required background credentials for federal contract sites, as necessary.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English.

Compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
