The Janitorial Supervisor provides support, assistance, and guidance to individuals with significant disabilities, enabling them to develop work skills and enhance their ability to communicate with customers in a workplace environment. The Janitorial Supervisor is also responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of workers engaged in cleaning and maintaining site premises, while establishing and maintaining a positive and constructive environment among all staff members.
What You Will Do
Planning & Coordination
- Plan, direct, and coordinate activities to ensure goals and objectives are accomplished
- Inspect completed work for conformance to standards
- Determine supply and equipment needs and submit to Project Manager (PM) for approval
- Identify staff development and training gaps; consult with PM to ensure training is obtained
- Train employees on job-specific tasks
Staff Management & Development
- Address tardiness and attendance in a positive manner and provide recognition when appropriate
- Review leave requests and make recommendations to the PM according to Didlake policy
- Work with Employment Services to ensure program plans are followed and accommodations are made
- Give feedback to encourage quality performance
- Model dependability, strong work ethic, professional appearance, and appropriate conduct
- Interview potential employees and make hiring recommendations
Safety & Equipment
- Ensure employee safety through proper equipment use and adherence to safety policies
- Inspect equipment for cleanliness and repair; tag out and report issues to PM
Communication & Meetings
- Hold regular meetings with employees to review priorities, assignments, and inspection results
- Act as Didlake representative and steward of government resource.
Administrative & Documentation
- Complete required paperwork and documentation
- Complete and maintain all required Didlake training
Qualifications:
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 2 years working in custodial services, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
Skills & Abilities
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain required background credentials.
- Must possess a valid REAL ID to access this worksite.
- Familiarity with the safe operation and use of industrial cleaning products and equipment
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to read documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and present information to employees
- Must possess computer skills, including Microsoft Office, search engines, smartphones, and phone applications
- Ability to interact effectively and supportively with people with disabilities
- Project a positive and professional image to the public, co-workers, and Didlake clients
