We are seeking a customer-focused Automotive Service Writer to join our family owned shop! You will serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle repairs and maintenance, notating their concerns in clear, detailed service orders. Duties
- Greet and assist customers, listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Write detailed service estimates by consulting with technicians, including auto diagnostics and inspections
- Communicate effectively with customers about recommended repairs, maintenance procedures, and costs, emphasizing transparency and trust
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs such as oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, tire services, shocks & struts, engine replacements, etc.
- Share the importance to properly maintaining vehicles and the value provided by our shop.
- Manage cash handling accurately for service orders and parts sales
- Maintain organized records of all service transactions, estimates, and customer interactions for accountability and follow-up
Qualifications
- Experience in Tekmetric software is an advantage
- Proven automotive service experience or auto service management background
- Mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems including suspension, brakes, oil changes, tire services, shocks & struts, gasoline engine
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and professionally
- Ability to sell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Strong organizational skills for managing multiple customer interactions efficiently
Pay: $45,839.30 - $55,204.32 per year
