DICKINSON STATE UNIVERSITY (DSU) is a regional comprehensive institution within the North Dakota University System, whose primary role is to contribute to intellectual, social, economic, and cultural development, especially to Southwestern North Dakota. DSU is seeking to hire an Assistant Football Coach/Wide Receivers and Game Day worker. The assistant Football Coach is responsible for assisting with a highly competitive football program which compete in the Frontier Conference and NAIA. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: knowing and abiding by all University, NAIA and Frontier Conference rules and regulations: coaching wide receivers, recruiting, monitoring student-athletes academic progress, budgeting and scheduling, organization and implantation of practice and game plans.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Health and Physical Education, Coaching, Exercise Science, or a related field.
  • Software skills in MS Office Suite, MS Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of software utilized by Play NAIA and Synergy Video.
  • NAIA varsity and junior varsity college recruiting experience.
  • Detailed orientated, conscientious.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with diverse populations.
  • Ability to present professional demeanor at all times.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES:

  • College football playing experience


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the administration of the football program.
    • Coordinate and instruction of wide receivers.
    • Assist in preparation and instruction of practice sessions for offensive team play.
    • Assist in preparation of offensive game plans.
    • Assist with the planning and daily operations of the football program.
    • Assist with film preparation
    • Assist with the coordination of one of the special teams
    • Other duties assigned by the head coach and offensive coordinator.
  • Assist in the recruitment of student-athletes for the men’s football program
    • Coordinate and instruction of tight ends.
    • Coordinate, prepare, and oversee the special teams.
    • Assist in preparation and instruction of practice sessions for offensive team play.
    • Assist in preparation of offensive game plans.
    • Assist with the planning and daily operations of the football program.
    • Assist with film preparation
    • Assist with the coordination of one of the special teams
    • Other duties assigned by the head coach and offensive coordinator.
  • Assist in the administration of game day.
    • Work in spring and winter events at game day
    • Duties may include announcing, statistics, supervision, or clock work.
    • Assist in concessions at game day

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

  • Salary range of $32,000 - $35,000/annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience
  • Comprehensive fringe benefits, including, but not limited to:

    • Tuition waiver benefits, for employee and spouse/dependents
    • Possible eligibility to participate in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program with the US Department of Education.
