Dickinson Parks and Recreation is seeking motivated candidates for the position of Golf Superintendent at Heart River Golf Course, Dickinson, ND. This position is full-time with the full benefits package of the Park District. **Job Summary**
The position is responsible for assisting the Director of Parks and Golf Maintenance in the management of Dickinson Parks and Recreation golf course maintenance. Golf Superintendent will directly supervise and monitor the overall maintenance of the Heart River Golf Course and associated areas.
**Essential Functions**

- Responsible for managing the maintenance of the Heart River Golf Course and associated areas.
- Be a member in good standing with the GCSAA and state chapter of golf course superintendents.
- Oversee interviewing, hiring, firing, training, and supervision of golf maintenance staff.
- Performs a variety of complex hands on and administrative tasks in planning and implementing comprehensive golf maintenance schedules.
- Supervises equipment repair and maintenance.
- Purchases supplies and materials within budgetary limitations and make recommendations for future budgets.
- Assists in coordinating formal documents such as bid forms and specifications.
- Participates in long range planning along with budget forecasting for golf maintenance.
- Performs a variety of complex hands-on and administrative tasks in planning and implementing a comprehensive grounds maintenance schedule, 5-year capital improvement plan, and maintenance plan.
- Maintains record keeping as it pertains to maintenance of the golf course, equipment, and facilities.
- Communicates effectively and maintains positive working relationships with other employees, agencies, and the public.
- Assist in any Park District area of operation outside your department when needed Represents Dickinson Parks and Recreation in a positive manner.
- Attends regular department/committee meetings and performs related work as required.
**Qualifications**
- Three years of experience in golf maintenance management; or an equivalent combination of training, experience, and education that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Current certification in CPR/First Aid/AED; or ability to obtain certifications within 12 months of employment.
- Valid Driver's License
- ND Pesticide Application License
- Class A Golf Course Superintendent
**Work Environment**
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
**Physical Demands**
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job but are not intended to be all-inclusive.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral visio , depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
**Position Type and Expected Hours of Work**
Classified as a Full-Time Fully Benefited position. Non-conforming hours will be arranged monthly in consultation with their supervisor based around facility and programming needs. Receives the full amount of defined DPR benefits described under the Benefits section of the Personnel Policy Manual.
