Position: Summer Helper
Department: Facility Services
Wage/Hour Status: $25 per hour (current employee), $15 per hour for student workers
Immediate Supervisor(s): Director of Facility Services

Days Employed: Summer Months
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Maintain schools/grounds in a condition of operating excellence so full educational use may occur at all times
QUALIFICATIONS:
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Basic knowledge in the use of hand tools and power tools
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions
Experience:
- No experience necessary
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain all safety and code requirements of the State, local, and Board of Education guidelines
- Be able to work with designated crafts in the work assigned
- Perform all other duties assigned

- Tools/Equipment Used: Light truck or van, various tools such as; hand and power tools, and other tools as needed on work assignments. Specialty tools related to specific craft assignments.
- Posture: Frequent standing; kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
- Motion: Frequent walking and reaching
- Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying (50 pounds and over) on a daily basis
- Environment: Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); exposure to noise
- Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
- Professional Dress: Dress must be clean, neat, in a manner appropriate for his or her assignment, and in accordance with any additional standards established by his or her supervisor and approved by the Superintendent. During work hours, visible body piercings (except earrings) will not be allowed. Visible tattoos will be covered at all times.
