What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Marketing & Outreach Coordinator position at Dickey's Barbecue Pit?
Position Summary
The Community Marketing & Outreach Coordinator serves as a visible, face-to-face representative of Dickey’s Barbecue Pit – La Junta throughout the surrounding community.
While the Catering Sales & Digital Outreach Coordinator primarily develops relationships through telephone and digital communication, this position is primarily in the field.
The coordinator will visit businesses, schools, healthcare organizations, hotels, churches, community organizations, public-safety agencies, event venues and other prospective partners; attend community functions; deliver samples and marketing materials; establish relationships; identify catering opportunities; and increase Dickey’s visibility throughout the community. An additional 10% commission is offered on each confirmed sale of a catering order.
The goal is for Dickey’s to become a recognizable and involved member of the La Junta-area business and community network.
Primary Responsibilities/Community Relationship Building
The coordinator will:
- Visit businesses and organizations throughout the designated trade area.
- Introduce themselves as a representative of Dickey’s Barbecue Pit – La Junta.

- Develop genuine relationships with community leaders and organizations.
- Return to high-potential accounts rather than relying on one-time visits.
- Identify opportunities for partnerships and cross-promotion.
- Generate qualified leads for the Catering Sales & Digital Outreach Coordinator.
- Follow up personally when a face-to-face relationship will improve the opportunity.
