Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Paralegal role based in Wichita, KS. The Paralegal will support attorneys in personal injury and malpractice cases by organizing case files, preparing and drafting legal documents, and maintaining accurate records. Daily responsibilities include conducting factual and legal research, reviewing medical and insurance records, summarizing depositions, and assisting with discovery responses. The Paralegal will communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance representatives, and court personnel to gather information and schedule appointments and hearings. The role also involves preparing trial notebooks and exhibits, coordinating filing of pleadings and motions, and helping ensure deadlines and court requirements are met.
Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge of Law and personal injury practice, with the ability to understand case strategy and legal processes.
- Strong Legal Document Preparation skills, including drafting pleadings, discovery requests and responses, correspondence, and settlement documents.
- Effective Communication skills, including clear written communication, professional phone and in-person interactions, and client service.
- Proficient Research abilities, including factual investigation, medical and insurance record review, and basic legal research using online tools.
- Careful Document Review skills for analyzing records, identifying key facts, and ensuring accuracy in filings and case materials.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational and time-management skills, and ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
- Proficiency with office and case management software (e.g., Microsoft Office, document management systems); experience in a litigation environment is preferred.
- Paralegal certificate or relevant associate/bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience in a law firm setting.
