Accounts Payroll/AP Specialist Responsibilities:
- Efficiently and effectively processing twice-monthly payroll for 2 dealerships
- Collaborating with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant financial data.
- Receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices to the DMS (Dealer Management System).
- Comparing system reports to balances and verifying entries.
- Charging expenses to accounts and cost centers, as well as controlling petty cash spending.
- Verifying vendor accounts, paying vendors, and resolving purchase order, invoice, or payment discrepancies.
- Issuing purchase order amendments and stop payments.
- Reconciling monthly vendor statements to the DMS and issuing payments.
- Reconciling daily cash sales/account transactions with the general ledger.
- Reconciling American Express/Visa statements and ensuring receipts are getting turned in.
- Monthly manufacturer statement reconciliations.
- Expense tracking and reporting to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Complete-Month end close assigned tasks within deadlines given.
- Annual 1099 reporting in accordance with the regulatory requirements.
- Performing recordkeeping and preparing financial reports.
- Keeping informed of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting.
Automotive Payroll/AP Specialist Requirements:
- At least 2 years experience as an accounts payable specialist, payroll specialist, or similar Accounting experience.
- Advanced competency in accounting and business management software
- In-depth knowledge of accounts payable principles, accounting standards, and industry regulations.
- Extensive experience in account reconciliation.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Great time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
