Role Description The Journeyman - Body Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Vancouver, WA. This position is responsible for performing collision repairs, including structural and non-structural work, panel replacement, body alignment, and fit and finish to manufacturer and industry standards. Daily tasks include disassembly and inspection of damaged vehicles, measuring and straightening frames, repairing and replacing body components, and preparing vehicles for paint. The role involves working from repair orders and estimates, collaborating with estimators and painters, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and using appropriate tools and equipment. The technician is expected to follow all safety procedures, meet production and quality targets, and communicate clearly with the team regarding repair status and any additional damage found.
Qualifications
- Strong collision repair and bodywork skills, including panel repair, replacement, and structural alignment.
- Proficiency with frame machines, measuring systems, hand tools, and power tools used in auto body repair.
- Ability to read and interpret repair orders, estimates, technical manuals, and manufacturer repair procedures.
- Knowledge of automotive materials, welding basics, and preparation of surfaces for paint and finishing.
- Commitment to workplace safety, proper use of protective equipment, and adherence to shop policies.
- Attention to detail, quality-focused mindset, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
