Dice City Sports is a digital-first newsroom covering what Las Vegas fans live and breathe. From the Raiders and Aces to the Golden Knights, UNLV, and combat sports, we connect the city to the stories behind the box scores. We are a launchpad for rising journalists, offering mentorship, real access, and the chance to master SEO and social growth while building a strong portfolio.
Role Summary and Key Responsibilities
- Write 3 articles per day (250 words or less) on assigned coverage lanes.
- Share every article on Facebook immediately after publishing.
- Post post game interviews on youtube and other social media
- Cover games, practices, and press conferences with professionalism and urgency when assigned.
- Conduct interviews with athletes, coaches, and sports figures as needed.
- Use SEO and data to grow traffic and inform story selection.
- Collaborate with editors and teammates in a fast-moving newsroom.
Tiered Growth Path
Everyone starts as a Contributor. Advancement is earned through consistency, traffic, and professionalism.
- Contributor (Tier 1): entry level, daily output target is 3 stories.
- Beat Reporter (Tier 2): earned role with credential eligibility and potential bonuses at Company discretion.
- Lead (Tier 3): leadership responsibilities and bonus pay.
Compensation
- Base stipend: $100 per month for meeting the minimum output.
- Additional pay: performance-based bonuses may be provided at Company discretion based on traffic and engagement.
- Payments: issued on the 15th of each month with a two-month delay.
Credentials
Access to cover pro and college teams is earned by meeting output and traffic benchmarks and by maintaining professional conduct. Current credential pathways include the Las Vegas Aces and UNLV. Credentials are not guaranteed.
Requirements
- Pass the Dice City Sports Knowledge Check at 100 percent before publishing.
- Maintain a professional presence on social platforms, with willingness to work in Facebook and Instagram Reels.
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, hit deadlines, and take feedback.
- Passion for the Las Vegas sports scene.
Contract
All contributors sign a six-month agreement. While under contract you may not write for other outlets on the same beat.

Location and Schedule
Las Vegas, Nevada preferred. Remote considered for the right candidate.
Part-time, 10 to 20 hours per week, with some nights and weekends for games and breaking news.
Pay: $50.00 - $5,000.00 per month
