This Reservoir Engineer will be an integral member of the Subsurface Injection Team and will work in a collaborative environment with geoscience, reservoir, production, completions, and midstream teams to provide engineering support for disposal reservoir interpretation, planning decisions, and forecasting. The Reservoir Engineer will integrate geological and pressure modeling to build tools and workflows to be predictive of the subsurface response to production, completions, and disposal operations. Job Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to: Provide engineering support and collaborate with Diamondback’s operations teams (completions, drilling, production, and planning) and midstream partners Manage all reservoir testing and data analysis for disposal zones in collaboration with Diamondback’s midstream partners (pulse tests, SRT’s, fall off tests, RTA/PTA) and lead regional trend evaluation and analysis Interface with the corporate planning and asset teams to refine produced water forecasted volumes using analytical tools, as well as collaborate with asset teams on investigative projects focused on WOR trends and performance drivers Develop and manage reservoir surveillance tools to monitor disposal well capacity and communicate forecasts to planning and corporate risk teams Develop recommendations for disposal zone development plans that are supported by data and economic analysis, and communicate the status of current asset capacity to midstream partners Support and collaborate heavily with regulatory group on SWD permitting and operational best practices Build models to understand ideal spacing between SWD wells and well design Collaborate in data management and interpretation of volume and pressure trends in completions and injection data, as well as develop recommendations and justifications for data acquisition programs Assist in developing recommendations critical to the asset geology and reservoir teams for ongoing development plans Required Qualifications: B.S. in Petroleum Engineering discipline A minimum of three (3) years of experience working as a reservoir, completions, or production engineer Experience building and maintaining Spotfire dashboards Experience working or knowledge of surface operations including but not limited to pumps, tank batteries, and pumping routes Experience working or knowledge of downhole operations including but not limited to workovers, common failure mechanisms and well completions Experience working with a variety of data streams and software Ability to communicate and apply conversations to practical problems Proactively and regularly communicate with teammates and associated key players across disciplines as to status updates and progress on projects Strong ability to resource and seek guidance for tasks outside of Geoscience and Reservoir Engineering disciplines Ability to work flexible hours, and occasional weekends and holidays Preferred Qualifications: Permian Basin experience or prior experience as a Reservoir, Completions, Production or Midstream Engineer. Familiarity with well test design and data acquisition and interpretation, as well as RTA/PTA concepts and practice Openness and/or exposure to geophysical science, geoscience and subsurface injection systems Familiarity with modeling or forecasting software Diamondback is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
