Responsibilities
Uses current technology to transcribe orders, maintain the integrity of the patient medical record, and gathers/enters and credits patient charges.
Plans, organizes, and implements the non-nursing functions to facilitate workflow, enhance productivity
Under the direction of the RN, demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the HUC role in the team delivery or patient care
Preforms clerical and reception duties
Requirements
High School graduate; verifiable satisfactory completion of Health Unit Coordinator course or equivalent previous on-the-job training preferred but not needed.
Legible handwriting; knowledge of medical terminology; demonstrated organizational skill; display of proper telephone etiquette; ability to communicate with people in a tactful manner.
