We are looking for a skilled and motivated Mobile Road Service Technician to join our growing team.

Job Summary:


We are seeking an experienced and reliable Mobile Road Service Technician to provide on-site diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance for tractor-trailers. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in various field conditions. You will be responsible for responding to roadside breakdowns and performing scheduled maintenance, ensuring minimal downtime for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Respond promptly and professionally to roadside service calls for tractor-trailers.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on trucks and trailers.
  • Perform a wide range of repairs on-site, including but not limited to: 
  • Engine diagnostics and minor repairs (e.g., sensors, belts, hoses)
  • Brake system repairs (e.g., air brakes, chambers, slack adjusters)
  • Electrical system troubleshooting and repair (e.g., lighting, starting, charging systems)
  • Air system repairs (e.g., leaks, valves, airlines)
  • Fuel system repairs (e.g., fuel delivery issues, filter changes)
  • Trailer repairs (e.g., doors, landing gear, lights, body work).
  • Perform preventative maintenance services on trucks and trailers at customer locations.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and software to accurately identify faults.
  • Maintain accurate records of all service work performed, including parts used and labor hours.
  • Operate and maintain a service vehicle in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding job status and repair recommendations.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Manage parts inventory on the service truck and order replacements as needed.
  • Be available for on-call rotations, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with experience on tractor-trailers.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, Class 8 truck and trailer systems (electrical, braking, pneumatic, hydraulic).
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL is a plus)
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 75 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:


  • ASE certifications 
  • CDL Class A or B.
  • Experience with reefer unit repairs.
  • Previous experience in a mobile/road service role.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations.
