Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Sacramento, CA. The Accountant will manage day-to-day bookkeeping, general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close activities. Responsibilities include preparing individual and business tax returns, supporting tax planning and consulting engagements, and assisting with tax resolution cases. The role will also involve analyzing financial statements, supporting accounting cleanup projects, and contributing to CFO services such as budgeting, cash flow analysis, and financial reporting. The Accountant will collaborate with team members, maintain accurate and compliant records, and communicate clearly with clients regarding their financial and tax matters.
Qualifications
- Strong accounting and bookkeeping skills, including general ledger management, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience with tax preparation for individuals and businesses, including familiarity with relevant federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Ability to support tax consulting, tax planning, tax savings strategies, and tax resolution engagements in collaboration with senior staff.
- Experience with accounting cleanup, review of prior records, and organizing financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Proficiency with accounting and tax software, spreadsheets, and standard office productivity tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain financial and tax concepts to clients in clear terms.
- Ability to work on-site in Sacramento, CA, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a client-focused environment.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; CPA or Enrolled Agent certification is a plus.
- Prior experience in public accounting, tax practice, or a similar professional services environment is highly beneficial.
