What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Shop Laborer position at Diamond Steel Co, Inc.?
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Shop Assistant. Our company is committed to delivering high‑quality machinery, and we expect every team member to approach their work with the same level of care and attention. Full training will be provided.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Sanding, grinding, and finishing steel parts and equipment
Cleaning and preparing components for final finishing
Operating machinery to cut, bend, or clean parts
Preparing equipment and components for painting
Assembling products after painting
Performing basic maintenance on shop equipment and general shop upkeep
Operating a forklift
Completing additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
Ability to produce consistent, high‑quality work while meeting deadlines
Understanding of basic safety practices in a manufacturing or shop environment
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Basic familiarity with tools and equipment, including hand tools, air tools, power tools, and the ability to read a tape measure with 1/16" accuracy
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively with others
