Position Overview
Diamond’s Management Group, Inc. (DMG) is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator/Project Manager to join our growing team. This role combines the technical expertise of cost estimating with the leadership responsibilities of project management. The Estimator/Project Manager will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates, overseeing construction activities, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating

Review bid documents, drawings, and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates for civil, underground utility, airport, and infrastructure projects.

Perform detailed quantity take-offs and pricing for materials, equipment, and labor.

Solicit, review, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes.

Identify project risks, constraints, and value engineering opportunities.

Prepare proposals, bid packages, and detailed cost breakdowns for submission.
Project Management

Plan, coordinate, and manage all aspects of construction projects from award to closeout.

Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and work plans.

Coordinate with clients, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Lead job site meetings, track progress, and proactively resolve issues that may impact safety, schedule, or cost.

Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and contract requirements.

Prepare and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and daily logs.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred) OR equivalent industry experience.

5 years of combined experience in construction estimating and project management, with a strong background in civil/underground utility and infrastructure projects (VDOT, MWAA, municipal, or similar).

Proficiency in estimating and scheduling software (e.g., Bluebeam, HeavyBid, Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel).

Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequencing, particularly in underground utilities, concrete, and asphalt.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

Ability to lead crews, manage subcontractors, and maintain strong client relationships.

OSHA 30, VDOT, or airport project experience a plus.
