Location: Bozeman, Montana

Compensation: $100,000–$145,000 Base Salary Full Benefits Bonus Potential

We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join a growing mechanical contractor in Bozeman, Montana. This individual will play a key role in the design, coordination, and execution of complex commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong HVAC system design experience and a desire to work closely with engineering, project management, and field operations teams in a fast-paced, construction-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial and industrial construction projects
• Produce load calculations, equipment selections, and system layouts
• Develop construction documents, shop drawings, and coordinated BIM/Revit models
• Coordinate with project management, field operations, subcontractors, clients, and other engineering disciplines throughout the project lifecycle
• Assist with design-assist and design-build project delivery
• Support value engineering efforts and constructability reviews
• Participate in project meetings and coordination sessions
• Review project specifications, submittals, RFIs, and mechanical plans
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
• Support commissioning and project closeout activities as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred (P.E. License)
• 2–10 years of experience in mechanical HVAC design or mechanical construction engineering
• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM coordination tools
• Understanding of HVAC and mechanical systems, including:
• VAV systems
• Chilled-water systems
• VRF systems
• Rooftop units
• Air-handling units
• Central plants
• Hydronic systems
• Design-build or construction-focused engineering experience is highly preferred
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
• Willingness to relocate to or work from the Bozeman, Montana, market

• Base salary of $100,000–$145,000, depending on experience
