Job Responsibilities
- Patient Verification: Ensure accuracy by verifying test requisitions against nursing station logs and addressing discrepancies with facility personnel.
- Specimen Collection: Perform venipunctures with precision and care while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Safe Transportation: Ensure safe transport of self and specimens while accurately tracking mileage per management guidelines.
- Specimen Integrity: Follow aseptic techniques, department protocols, and isolation procedures to maintain sample quality.
- Documentation & Tracking: Record collection details, including initials, date, and time of collection, to ensure accurate tracking.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following all legal and industry regulations.
- Data Entry: Utilize laboratory information systems to enter sample acquisition details.
- Professionalism & Community Service: Uphold professional standards, policies, and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
