What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farm Hand position at Diamond J Equine, LLC?
As a Farm Hand, you will be responsible for feeding and watering 20-30 horses. Cleaning stalls and driving a tractor to spread manure. In addition, you will be responsible for performing general farm duties like repairing fences, watering and dragging arenas, light maintenance work around the barns and on equipment.. We are looking for a conscientious and hardworking individual who is passionate about animals and takes pride in their work. Prior experience with handling horses is definitely a plus.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain the health and quality of livestock.
- Assist with the maintenance of a clean and safe environment for the animals.
- Maintain a healthy environment by following proper sanitation procedures.
- Identify any issues that affect the health of the livestock.
- Unload and stack hay.
- Bring horses in and out from the barn to pastures
- Hold horses for the farrier.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities.
- Go to the feed store and pick up feed and supplies.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
