Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Warehouse Maintenance Technician to join our operations team. This role is essential to maintaining the safety, efficiency, and functionality of our warehouse facility and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a proactive approach to maintenance, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyor systems, and material handling equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity
- Conduct routine inspections of all warehouse equipment and facilities to proactively identify maintenance needs and potential safety hazards
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in a timely manner to minimize operational downtime
- Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing, HVAC, and building infrastructure problems as they arise
Facility Management
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety compliance in the maintenance shop and all work areas
- Monitor and maintain building systems, including emergency equipment, fire suppression systems, and security infrastructure
Documentation & Compliance
- Accurately document all maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and equipment service records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and spare parts
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA regulations and company safety standards
Collaboration & Support
- Coordinate with warehouse operations, management, and external vendors to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to daily operations
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and equipment failures
- Assist with the installation, testing, and setup of new equipment and facility improvements
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Warehouse Manager
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in industrial maintenance, facility repair, or a related technical field
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems
- Working knowledge of warehouse equipment operations and safety protocols
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Basic computer skills for documentation and work order management systems
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred
- Technical certification or vocational training in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, or mechanical repair
- Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment
- OSHA safety training or certification
- Experience in high-volume warehouse or distribution center environments
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
- Comfortable working at heights using ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing for extended periods
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and environmental conditions
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as operational needs require
- Availability for on-call emergency maintenance response
